At First Baptist Church of St. James City our Mens Ministry is designed to create healthy habits for Christian men that will create a closer walk with Christ, and in doing so, impact our entire congregation, our community, and our world. We believe that our ministry could be an impetus for revival among the men of our church as we dedicate ourselves to being the men God created us to be.
The mission of the Men's Ministry is to create servant leaders who make disciples for the Kingdom of God. We accomplish this through discipleship coupled with leader development. The one issue we care greatly about is the biblical leadership role of men in the home and in the "Body of Christ". The abdication of men in these two roles is a threat to both the state of the family and the state of the church. In order to lead effectively, we must first lay our hearts and minds at the feet of Jesus, and follow him. Don't be afraid to get a "little dirty " and spend some quality time in the Dust of the Rabbi.
We must carry out the Great Commission, first in our homes, and then in the world around us. We do this by loving people, and serving them...which is the opposite of commanding or ruling. Finally, we must raise up the next generation. This is the most difficult task, and one we must commit to with absolute clarity of heart, mind, and soul
